Evaluation Studio

Learn about the Studio's pages, assignment packs, and the path from student recordings to posted grades.

The Studio's pages

Evaluation Studio is Prepara's tool for assignments that students complete on video: a talk, a live discussion or an oral exam. Each assignment holds instructions, a rubric, and recording settings. Students submit recordings, and you review their work and post grades.

Packs in your class

A pack is a collection of ready-made assignments for a subject. Your class includes the packs in its Prepara plan that are switched on for the class. A template supplies the kind of assignment, its rubric, and initial settings. A scenario supplies the situation that students address.

The road from pack to Canvas

Follow the professor, student, and AI from choosing a pack to sending grades to Canvas.

Students complete the assignment's steps and submit their recordings. The AI prepares transcripts and feedback when the AI assistant is on. You choose whether AI grades post automatically or wait for your review. Prepara records posted grades in its gradebook, and you review the selected grades before sending them to Canvas.

Open the Studio

In your class's left menu in Prepara, open Tools, then Evaluation Studio. Home shows the Getting started page until the class has its first Studio assignment. The page introduces video assignments and offers Create an assignment and Try it with sample students.

Getting started in the Studio's menu returns to this page while preserving your setup and roster.

Questions

Students record in a browser on a laptop or phone. They can also upload a video.

The Chapter filter finds assignments made for a chapter of your course's book. You can also write your own case with its documents and rubric.
