Home
Home is the first page of your class, where you find videos that need your attention and an Assignment timeline that shows submission and grading progress.
Parts of Home
The title line shows Home and, for the class's owner and admins, New assignment. Home places What would you like to do? on the left and Needs you on the right, with When does this class run? under Needs you while the class has no dates. Assignment timeline appears across the bottom. On a phone the two columns stack, with What would you like to do? first. The owner and admins see What would you like to do? inside Prepara. A reviewer sees Needs you across the whole width and Assignment timeline under it. Live now appears above the cards for either role while a room is open.
Requests for Ask Prepara
A video row in Needs you opens that video in the player, on Rubric when it waits for a grade and on Comments when it waits for comments. The player opens on Rubric for a video that needs a grade and on Comments for a video that needs a comment. A row can also say AI grade held for your review. A request for a second look opens the assignment's requests section. A row for grades awaiting transfer to Canvas opens the assignment's Canvas panel. The owner and admins also see rows such as 2 videos processing, with the students' names underneath, and 1 video failed to process. Both rows open the class's Processing page. The Processing page shows each video's preparation step and a Retry button for a failed video. Retry starts another attempt at the failed step. A ring or an assignment name in Assignment timeline opens the assignment's page.
Reading the Assignment timeline
Assignment timeline shows every assignment as an entry with a ring on the left and lines beside it. All entries have the same width in even columns, with five entries across on a laptop. Assignments with due dates appear in order of due date, followed by the assignments without a due date. Each ring shows the share of students whose videos are graded in green. Coral shows videos awaiting your review, and grey shows the students who have not submitted yet. The assignment's name appears on one line beside the ring. A long name is cut short. The whole name appears when you point at it. A class with due dates shows the assignment's week and due day, such as Week 4 · Sep 12, or No due date for an assignment without a due date. The submission count shows how many students submitted, such as 13 of 25 submitted. Words in coral say what waits for you, such as 1 to grade or 1 to comment on (no grade). The grading count shows progress, such as 4 graded, and turns green when every submitted video is graded. An assignment that uses comments instead of scores shows a count such as 3 commented on. An assignment awaiting its first submission shows No videos yet. Due next appears before the due day for the assignment that is due next. The whole entry opens the assignment's page when you press anywhere on it. The whole entry is highlighted when you point at it or move to it with the keyboard. New assignment appears last for the owner and admins as an entry that is the same size as the others, with a dashed circle and a plus.
Class dates
The class dates specify the first and last days of the class. The When does this class run? card appears for the owner and admins while the class still needs dates, in classes outside Demo classrooms. You enter Start date and End date and select Save dates. Set dates later hides the question for that class in that browser. The timeline's title line shows the term and week once the class has dates, such as Fall 2026 · Week 11 of 17, along with the student count, such as 25 students. Change in Setup appears beside the timeline's title once the class has dates and opens the Class dates card in Setup. Needs you shows a row for each assignment with posted grades awaiting transfer to Canvas during the final seven days of the class. Each of those rows opens the assignment's Canvas panel.
Questions
Needs you on Home shows videos that need grading. Grade next appears while at least one video waits for a grade and opens the oldest video waiting for a grade in the player. A video that needs a grade opens on Rubric. The coral words on an assignment card on the Assignments page open Needs you on Home with only that assignment's videos.
Choose Getting started in the Studio's menu. Back to Home returns you to your class's work.
