Students
The Students page shows the people in your class and their roles. You can review changes from Prepara before applying them to the class.
Roles
People is the list of class members on the Students page. Each person has a role that decides what they can do in the Studio. Instructors and admins manage the class. Reviewers assess work, and participants complete assignments.
The course or section owner
Reviewers see grades controls whether reviewers can read assignment scores. A guest reviewer can receive a signed link for one submission. Blind judging shows a seat code until the reviewer publishes.
The Students page
The Students page lets you check who belongs to your class. You can arrange students into groups from the People list. Section chips appear above People when the class has several Prepara sections.

| People | People lists each person's name, role, status, group and last sign-in. The "Removed on Prepara" badge identifies a co-instructor or teaching assistant whom Prepara has removed from its staff list. That person keeps their place in the class until the owner decides. |
| Pending students | Pending students lists people who are awaiting registration after an invitation or import on Prepara. These people become class members when they register. |
| Open the Prepara roster | Open the Prepara roster opens the section's Students page in Prepara in the browser's main window. You can add students to the class there. |
| Sync roster | Sync roster opens the "Sync roster with Prepara" dialog. The dialog compares the Prepara roster with the students in the class. It names the people who would be added or removed. Its apply button applies the listed changes for only the people that you leave ticked. |
| Groups | The Groups action creates a group from the students that you select in People. The same toolbar lets you place a group in a discussion session. |
You can change the class roster in Prepara through Open the Prepara roster. You then press Sync roster on the Students page in the Studio to review the changes. You press the dialog's apply button to apply the changes for the people that you leave ticked. People shows the resulting names and roles.
Groups
A group is a set of students who work together. The Groups action on the Students page creates a group from selected students. The same toolbar can place a group in a discussion session. Live discussion assignments provide further choices for arranging groups and meeting times.
