Recording privacy

Class roles and assignment settings determine who can watch, comment on, and download recordings.

People and access

A recording is visible only to the people its class gives a role that can watch it. The student can open their own recording. Instructors, admins, and course reviewers can review it. Peer review gives classmates access for that assignment.

A guest reviewer receives a signed link for one submission. Blind judging displays a seat code until the reviewer publishes their assessment. The video download becomes available after the blind review is published.

The player receives a signed video address that expires. Playback requires a current signature. An instructor's download link remains valid for five minutes after creation.

The Studio checks upload permission before a file moves. The browser receives a short-lived address that accepts one file of the declared type and size. The Studio converts the uploaded recording for playback.

Private practice recordings

Preview as student provides a private practice seat for rehearsing an assignment. Recordings from that seat are restricted to you and the course's staff. The Studio treats them as ungraded practice outside the course's counts.

Names for voices in rooms

The Studio compares the words in the shared recording with each student's own recording and uses the class roster to suggest a name for each voice. To change a name, select the speaker's name at the start of a line in the Transcript view, then search the class or type a name. You can also lock the name so that it stays as you set it, or clear it.

Recording notices and account erasure

The recorder tells students when Verification phrase and Session signals apply. Students say the displayed phrase when required. Requests to erase a whole account go to Prepara.
