AI grading
AI grading scores recordings against your rubric and follows your choice about posting.
What the AI reads and writes
AI grading is the Studio's option to have the AI score each recording against your rubric. The AI reads the student's transcript and proposes a level from 0 to 4 for each line. The Studio converts those levels to your rubric's levels and points.
The AI grades each student's own recording from a discussion room. The group grade card and note appear on the shared recording. Human judges score work that uses a judging panel.
The four grade choices
How the AI's grade is used appears in Details during New assignment. A graded assignment starts on Post automatically when the AI assistant is on and its rubric includes AI-scored lines or is still empty. Other new assignments start on Off.

The line for high scores
The starting line is 90 percent of the rubric's possible points. Details or Edit assignment lets you change it.
| Example with a 20-point rubric | Result |
|---|---|
| 18 points or more | The Studio posts the grade automatically. |
| 17 points | The AI grade waits for your review in Needs you on Home. |
When you change the choice
A new choice applies to recordings that still need a grade. Existing posted grades remain in place. You can revise those grades individually.
The assignment's feedback hold controls student access separately. Release feedback makes held grades and comments available.
In a solo recording with two unnamed voices, the Studio identifies the student as the voice with the most talk time. Change it lets you correct that identification. Naming a voice causes the Studio to grade the recording again.
Questions
You choose whether the Studio posts AI scores automatically, holds them for review, or leaves scoring to you. You can change a posted grade later.
